| This is the primary slipway that runs from Fore Street down to the beach. The Platt at Fore Street stays level, so the slipway gives an easy slope down to the beach for vehicles. It also contains a wooden bridge over the leat as it comes up from underneath Fore Street. |

| Although you can get to the beach directly from the Platt, if you are coming from Church Hill or Roscarrock Hill, the slipway is a faster way down there. We have seen people running down the slipway several times. Here is one scene in Series 5, Episode 5 when Louisa runs down the slipway to deliver medication to Martin so he can treat Paul, the fisherman. |
