Aunt Ruth and Margaret at cafe |
. |
. |
. |
The cafe was set up on a private patio just past the end of Middle Street. In the picture below right, you can see an archway along the path and in the picture below left, the larger circle shows the location of the patio and the smaller circle the location of the archway. As you can see posted, this is a private path, so please respect their privacy. The first building is an old chapel that now appears to be used for storage. Next is the patio where the crew set up the cafe. Behind Aunt Ruth is an archway that leads into a beautiful garden. This archway matches the one we see below right along the path. Beyond the garden are two beautiful homes. |

Michael builds sand castle on beach |
. |
. |
Michael is building a fabulous sand castle for James on the beach. This is the beach in Port Isaac and it's over on the side of the beach in front of Tide's Reach. It would also be just below the balcony of the pub. |

School Sports Day |
. |
. |
The School Sports Day was filmed at the Cricket Grounds in St Miniver. In the shots below you can see the bushes and small trees along the edge of the grounds, the houses just across the road, and the large auto repair facility with the stone wheel propped up in front. The gate to the grounds is the gate Louisa follows Martin through as he tries to leave. |

While they usually use the Royal Cornwall Hospital for any hospital filming, this scene was actually shot at the Bodmin Treatment Centre. You can see the view of one of the old Bodmin Hospital buildings through the window behind Louisa's bed. If you look closely, the brick patterns between the windows match that of the building that sits right behind this modern medical building. The window behind Louisa is a small window and the one over to the side is a larger rectangular window. You can tell exactly which windows are visible in the episode by looking at the building on Street View. |

Michael's flat was filmed in the flat above the old service station at the corner of New Road and Tintagel Terrace. The main floor of this building was used as the funeral parlor in Series 5. |

Margaret is walking with James and heads up Middle Street from the platt to find Aunt Ruth just up the lane. After a short discussion, Aunt Ruth tells her they need to have a coffee and a chat so they walk up Middle Street. |

The old RAF Control Tower next to the runway at Newquay Airport was in the background of this shot. Based on the corner of the tower visible, the gate that Michael is walking toward would be just southwest of the tower. |

Al and Morwenna are discussing Michael's departure from Portwenn as they walk down Roscarrock Hill from the surgery. They turn onto Fore Street, past the Fish Cellars and the Aquarium, past the Platt, and then up Fore Street on their way to the pub. |

In the picture below right, there is a circle around the archway that is behind Aunt Ruth in the screenshot. Also circled in the screenshots above is one of the pair of distinctive chapel windows flanking the large, garage door type opening. You can see that they had that door open and set up the cafe counter in that opening. The beige brickwork around the opening also shows up in one of the screenshots. |
