Small Buddhas

The Gold Buddha and White Buddha are very easy to spot in the background of scenes in The Surgery.  
Less noticeable are some smaller Buddhas that show up in the kitchen and the Consulting Room.

I may be wrong about this, but I believe there are just two of these small Buddhas - one a little taller
than the other with the hands resting on the knees and the shorter one with the hands resting in the lap.

There are also three Buddha head statues, one first seen in S4, one in S5, and another in S9.

Series 1

In S1 the two small Buddhas made their first appearance on the kitchen windowsill.
They weren't there in the only kitchen scene in Episode 1, but of course, Martin was still
unpacking.  After Episode 1, the only filmed kitchen scenes were in Episode 3 and
Episode 5 - and both the tall and short Buddhas were visible in those episodes.

This is not technically one of the
Buddhas, but a Buddha-like head statue
was glimpsed in Martin's bedroom in
both Episodes 5 & Episode 6.

In S2, both were moved into the Consulting Room.  The taller one was placed on the mantle
and the short one was in the back corner at the right end of a shelf above the cabinet.

The short one was difficult to see much of the time because it is a dark corner, but it was
very visible in Episode 3.

In the Christmas Special between
S2 and S3, the taller one was
nowhere to be seen, but the short
one was on a secretary behind

In this series the two Buddhas start out back in the kitchen.  This time the tall one is at the
far right side of the right window.  But the small one is across the room on the hutch,
nestled among the china.  The small one stays put all series long, but the tall one travels as
you will see below.

In S4, the small one has gone back into the Consulting Room and sits on the mantle for the
entire series.  The tall one has disappeared and I have not seen it again through S9.

There is a new one though - just a Buddha head and it appears to be made out of some type
of polished stone.  It starts out on Martin's desk and moves to the mantle in Episode 4.

In the back corner of the Consulting Room, an
area that is often very dark, there are some
figurines that could be mistaken for the missing
sitting Buddha.  But in one of the episodes
there is enough light to identify that they
appear to be a trio of warrior statues.

In S5, the small one appears inside the cabinet in the back corner of the Consulting
Room in Episode 6 and remains there through the rest of the Series.  It does not appear
in S6 or in S7, but reappears in Series 8.

The light green stone Buddha head that was first seen last series in the Consulting Room is
now inside the hanging cabinet behind Morwenna's desk.  The first time it is visible is in
Episode 4 and it can also be spotted in Episode 7 and Episode 8.

A new small Buddha head appears in Martin & Louisa's bedroom.

The small Buddha head that first made an appearance in S4 in the Consulting Room and in
S5 in the Waiting Room now has migrated to the Kitchen.  It shows up off and on again in
the hutch.

The other small black Buddha head is still in place on the mantel in the bedroom.

perched on top of books on the cabinet in the front corner of the Living Room.

The small Buddha head is still in the same place from S7 - on top of the cabinet in the front
corner of the Living Room.  

But one of the other small Buddhas makes its first appearance since S5.  You can just catch
a glimpse of it all series long in the very dark cubbyhole in the Consulting Room.
